Book #2!
I can’t wait to continue the work of giving us stories, liturgies, questions, songs, and contemporary connections for the woman-led faith we long for and are creating together.

Dearly Beloveds,
It’s been a big week!
I signed a contract to write my second book, which will release Fall 2025!
Continuing the work of centering and celebrating the women of our faith traditions, without whom we’d be hard pressed to have any faith traditions at all, book two will feature women from the Hebrew Scripture with a working title of For All Her Hands Have Made: Matriarchs, Mystics, Wise Women, and Warriors in the Hebrew Bible.
As ever, this book will invite beauty, curiosity, reflection, and reclamation of women, our stories, and our faith while offering its beautiful readers (YOU) a roadmap for applying your own imagination and creativity to sacred texts.
I have some work to do. The proposal for book #2 is longer than Blessed Are the Women, and, I’ll admit, I’m not as familiar with, say, The Witch of Endor or Aholibamah (Canaanite woman who married Esau) as I am with Mary, Elizabeth, Anna, and others from the New Testament. My guess is that many of you aren’t as familiar with these women, either.
I can’t wait to get to know the women of the Hebrew Bible (they’re everywhere) more intimately and deeply and honestly than ever before. I can’t wait to continue the work of giving us stories, liturgies, questions, songs, and contemporary connections for the woman-led faith we long for and are creating together.
Thank you, dear, beloved readers. Without you, there’d be no book to write.
Your desire to read, pray, sing, live, and follow the women of our faith allows me the freedom and joy of writing, which is a precious gift for which I am eternally grateful.
Stay tuned for all that is to come. And for today, take a deep breath and know that you (and all - there are no exceptions, not even a one) are loved. Wholly. Completely. Forever. Loved.
Thanks be to God. Amen.

What good are our prayers on Sunday if they make no meaning in our lives on Monday? Take action today to call for: Ceasefire. Ceasefire. Ceasefire. Ceasefire.

Happy PRIDE month from all the women who’ve been leading in love forever. Mother Mary at the helm, she reminds us that all children are beloved, all people are worthy, and all identities are valid and matter. Blessed Are the Women is a celebration of women and our love for ourselves, one another, and everyone. Happy PRIDE!

Blessed Are the Women is what they call an evergreen book. She’s a faithful companion in all seasons—for personal and communal spiritual practice, sermon and worship prep, contemporary connection, feminist midrash, reclaiming women’s stories, and more. As we head into “ordinary time” in the Christian calendar year, as spring comes to and end and summer begins, let Blessed Are the Women accompany you and yours in the day to day grace and grind of it all. She and the women are here.
